My favourite Toronto bike trails
Carver and I love riding our bikes and, thanks to its great park system, Toronto is a great city for bikers. Here are some of our favourite trails for those who live downtown and along the Yonge Street corridor.
The Martin Goodman Trail stretches a total of 56 km along the waterfront, from the Humber Bay to the Rouge River. There are lots of pretty sections to explore.
The Lower Don Trail extends from the waterfront to Taylor Creek and E T Seton Parks and winds alongside the Don River.
The Kay Gardner Beltline Park follows the old Beltline Railway line from the Allen Expressway at Eglinton Avenue to Mount Pleasant Cemetery just south of Yonge & Davisville. A short, shady ride.
The David A Balfour Park is our favourite way to the Saturday Farmers Market at the Evergreen Brickworks on the Bayview extension. Downhill all the way there … and a great workout, uphill, on the way back!
